eCommerce

The Internet has dramatically reduced the costs of entering the retail market. No longer are you required to have the traditional 'bricks and mortar' outlet to sell your wares.

What you do need is an online store front, basically an enhanced web site that has the ability to display your products and accept payment.

We have experience in building and maintaining many eCommerce websites ranging from just 5 specialist products to over 2000 unique items.

How much would an eCommerce site cost?

Depending on the route you choose to go down, costs can vary quite a bit:

Pre Built Option
There are a few pre-built eCommerce solutions available to get you started. Some are Open Source (read, free) while others require you to purchase a license.

Once you have selected your store of choice it will need to be customised to your needs with colour schemes, graphics, and other layout decisions.

The only thing to do after that is upload some products and begin trading! This will be the cheapest route to get started.

The main disadvantage of this route is that your web store can end up looking very similar to others online, and they can also be difficult to customise if non standard features are required.

Custom Built Option
As the name suggests, a fully unique and individual eCommerce store is designed and built for your specific needs.

A custom built eCommerce store will require a bigger initial outlay, and could take longer to get up and running. Prices will often reflect the higher level of skill and work involved in site creation.

The advantages are having the ability to customise every aspect of your store to your exact needs, and have the knowledge that your business has its own distinct Internet presence.
