CLIENT MANAGED ADWORDS CAMPAIGN

We took onboard a new client for our standard PPC campaign management who had previously been managing his Google AdWords account in-house.

The campaign had been setup by the client using the Google AdWords wizard and expensive costs led them to seek out some professional PPC management services.

THE EXISTING CAMPAIGN

As described above the client had setup a new Google AdWords account and used the wizard tool to create a first campaign and ad group. He then selected some keywords which he thought relevant and wrote an advert to be displayed.

After 2 weeks with little to show for his money he read a few blogs and articles and recreated a new campaign with modified ad groups and keyword settings.

After another few weeks he decided that he needed some professional help and contacted us to take over the management of his campaigns.

The statistics across both his campaigns are as follows:

Average time visitors spent on his website: 65 seconds
Average number of pages viewed by visitors: 1.62
Percentage of visitors who left site straight away (Bounce Rate): 55.71%
Click through rate of his adverts: 0.15% (Due to content network being enabled)
Average cost of each click (CPC): £1.93

WORK WE CARRIED OUT

We immediately halted his current AdWords campaigns and carried out some keyword research for his sector.

We then set about creating new campaigns along with new keywords and adverts, setting maximum bid prices as we saw fit. We also upgraded his analytics package to track increased AdWords statistics.

OUR CAMPAIGN RESULTS

Measuring our results over a similar period to the analysis performed above we managed to achieve the following:

Average time visitors spent on his website: 84 seconds
Average number of pages viewed by visitors: 4.08
Percentage of visitors who left site straight away (Bounce Rate): 24.21%
Click through rate of his adverts: 3.00%
Average cost of each click (CPC): £0.41

As you can quickly see we increased visitor activity on the website quite some way while reducing the cost of each click to just under 22% of the original price paid.

Running at his original costs it would have cost the client £2,200 in AdWords fees per month to purchase the same amount of visitors as we managed to provide him with for just £465.

Taking into account the fact that the visitors we supplied spend much longer looking at the clients site only backs up the effectiveness of our services.
